Two Lakin runners finishing second and third in their home meet highlighted the Rich Randolph Invitational cross country meet Saturday.
Running on their home course, Alex Luce clocked a 16:07.57 to finish in second place, while Austin Ritsema’s solid kick in the home stretch gave him a 16:12.47 to place third.
That 2-3 finish helped the Broncs to a fifth place finish in the 13-team field, just one point behind Scott City.
Holcomb won the team title with 46 points. Guymon was third with 52, Meade third with 87, and Scott City fourth with 117.
Brody Deniston of Holcomb took the title, running 15:54.74.
Zael Bermudez placed 37th, Justin Leader 41st, Vicente Davis 49th, Blake Matthews 54th, and Gabe Cox 59th.
Holcomb also won the girls varsity with 66 points. Lakin had 183 points to finish ninth.
Leading the way for Lakin was Emma Miller, who finished 22nd (22:06.55).
Other varsity girls were Ivy Davis (42nd), Abby Holmes (52nd), Kayleen Tanner (53rd), Shillelagh Kentner (56th) and Odaliz Garcia (57th).
For the JV girls, Melany Lorenzo finished 15th and Addison Grusing was 19th.
Top boys JV runner was Camden Bergkamp in ninth place. Eric Munson finished 22nd and Brennen Bless 29th.
The best eighth grade girls finisher was Claire Earnhardt in fifth.
Seventh grade girls top finisher was Kate Miller, who finished second.
Top seventh grade boys runner for Lakin was Tyler Johnson in eighth place.
