Girls win fifth straight

The girls basketball team started the new year off right Friday with a 57-33 victory at Syracuse.
That means the girls are now 5-2 after running their winning streak to five in a row.
Jara Davidson led the Broncs with 16 points and fellow senior Samantha Vogel finished with 10.
Amari Esquibel had nine, Jordan McCombs eight and Reagan Chavira seven to add to the Broncs’ offensive attack.
The Broncs jumped out to an early 6-0 lead before Syracuse tied the game at 7-all midway into the opening quarter, but Lakin led 15-9 at the end of the period.
By halftime, the Broncs were up 31-19. By the end of the third, they had increased that lead to 44-23.
