Girls get win over Heights

The girls basketball team improved to 9-5 with a 52-28 win over Southwestern Heights at home Tuesday.
Lakin led just 5-3 at the end of the first period, but they took off in the second to take a 25-13 halftime lead.
The Broncs increased that lead to 42-20 to cruise to the win.
Lakin shot 41 percent from the floor, while Heights converted just 18 percent.
Both teams turned the ball over too much, but Lakin made 21 points off of 16 miscues from Heights while the Mustangs converted just nine points from 19 Broncs errors.
Lakin won the rebounding, 39-24.
Freshman Aryn Michaelis led all scorers with 21 points and Jordan McCombs had 11.
Michaelis had two steals and Lileah Villa and Jara Davidson each had four assists.
