Boys golf claims Hugoton title

Claiming three of the top four individual places, the Lakin boys golf team picked up another win Friday in Hugoton.

Lakin claimed the title with 323 strokes, ahead of Elkhart’s 329 and Hugoton’s 342 in the seven-team event.

This is the third team title this season in five meets, with two runner-up finishes accounting for the other two meets.

Kevin Tanner claimed top honors, firing a 76.

Noah Garcia was second with 78 strokes and Maddux Beltran fourth with 80.

The team total of 323 is the lowest for any Lakin team in David Richter’s coaching run.
