Baseball drops two to Bluejays

The baseball team dropped a pair of games at Cimarron Monday, 13-3 and 12-6.

In game one, Cimarron broke a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the second inning by scoring five runs and then added another five-spot the following inning.

Only five of Cimarron’s runs were earned as Lakin committed three errors.

Adrik Gomez-Esquibel and Jayden Johnson both had two hits for the Broncs. Both had a double, along with Angel Davila.

Gabe Cox had two runs batted in.

Armando Salcido got the start, striking out five and walking six. Of the 11 runs the Jays scored against him, only three were earned.

In game two, Cimarron scored in all six innings, taking advantage of seven Lakin errors.

Dru Patterson and Alex Luce had two hits and Gomez-Esquibel drove in three runs to lead the Broncs.

Patterson started for Lakin, going 4.3 innings. He struck out four and walked one. Of the eight runs Cimarron scored on him, only three were earned.
