Lakin golfers heading to state

The boys golf team continued their storied season Monday, capturing the regional team title at Norton.

The Broncs won the nine-team tournament with a low score of 337, well ahead of Colby (350) and Norton (352).

Kevin Tanner won the tournament with a 74 on the par-70 course.

Noah Garcia shot 78 to place fifth. Maddux Beltran shot 90 to place 15th.

Brayson Hoover finished tied for 20th with a 95. Jayce Bless tied for 32nd with a 109.

The state Class 3A tournament will be held at the Emporia Municipal Golf Course May 20-21.
