Softball falls in regionals

The softball season ended Monday with a. 13-2 loss to Colby in the first round of the regional play at Colby.

Colby scored three runs in the first inning, two from a home run. They added three more in the second.

Leading 7-2 after five, Colby added six more runs in the sixth, four of those off of errors and two from walks.

Seniors Jara Davidson and Bri Holmes both had a run batted in in their final game.

Colby out hit the Broncs 7-4, and Lakin committed six errors to just one by Colby.

Moriah Ortiz pitched the full game, striking out six and walking seven. Only four of Colby’s 13 runs were earned.

Lakin finishes the season 11-12.
