Volleyball goes 2-3 in tournament

The volleyball team competed at a tournament in Scott City Saturday, finishing 2-3 for the day.
Lakin picked up wins over host Scott City and Wheatland/Grinnell, both in 2-0 matches.
Lakin lost to Norton 2-1, Phillipsburg 2-0 and Garden Plain 2-0.
The Broncs beat Scott City 25-23, 25-21. Taegan Oldham served three aces, and Aryn Michaelis had nine digs and Moriah Ortiz eight.
The score against Wheatland was 26-24, 25-23. Michaelis had two aces and 12 digs, as well as 1.5 blocks. Kalyn King had 10 digs.
They lost to Garden Plain 29-27, 25-14. Sara Ottonelli had eight digs and Elitza Fonseca seven.
Lakin lost against Norton 25-23, 23-25, and 25-21. Michaelis had 12 digs, Orronelli 11 and Jordan McCombs 10. Michaelis had two blocks.
No stats were available for the Phillipsburg match.
