Boys dominate in first win

The Broncs boys varsity team hit the ground running Friday, leaving Wallace County with a 91-31 win.
The Broncs started the game on a 23-0 run before ending the first period with a 32-5 lead.
They led 57-10 at halftime and 71-20 after three quarters.
Lakin shot 51 percent from the floor (38 of 75), including 11 of 29 from 3-point range. The Wildcats shot just 24 percent (8 of 34).
Lakin forced 28 turnovers, scoring 43 points from those. The Broncs turned the ball over just nine times, leading to just seven points for the Wildcats.
Lakin outscored the Wildcats 36-0 on transition points.
Lakin had 22 offensive and 22 defensive boards, outscoring the Wildcats 22-1 on second-chance shots.
Five Broncs scored in double figures, led by Colter Oldham and Nicolas Doume-Bekale with 16 each.
Adrik Gomez-Esquibel had 14 points, Austin Ritsema 11 and Ross Rider 10.
Doume-Bekale had 10 rebounds and Rider and Oldham each had six.
Doume-Bekale, Tyelor Holloway and Dru Patterson all had four steals, while Gomez-Esquibel had nine assists.
Lakin will participate in the Goodland tournament this week, opening against Ulysses on Thursday.
