Girls fall to Hugoton
The girls basketball team ended the regular season last Tuesday at Hugoton, falling to the Eagles 55-42
The Broncs held a 17-12 lead at the first break, but a 14-4 second gave the Eagles a 26-21 halftime lead.
Lakin cut the lead to one at the end of the third, but the Eagles used a 17-5 fourth to put the game away.
The Broncs shot 38 percent from the floor (16 of 42), including 4 of 19 from 3-point range.
Lakin out rebounded the Eagles 38-33, but 25 turnovers led to 20 of Hugoton’s points.
Jaya Esquibel led the Broncs with 13 points, and Talyn Beltran added 10.
Esquibel led the team with eight rebounds and five assists.
