Hunter Kirby - Teacher Spotlight
Job Title: JAG-K Specialist
A little bit about Mr. Kirby: I am from Lakin, Kansas, and I Graduated from Lakin High School in 2018 and then continued my academic and athletic career at Dodge City Community College. After that I attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University. I have two brothers and one sister who live in Oklahoma. It has been a pleasure coming back to where I grew up to try and impact the kids here at Lakin High School.
Educational Experience: I am the Lakin JAG-K specialist and also coach basketball and baseball. It has been an honor to coach under Nate Schmitt and Steve Davidson, who were also my coaches in High school. I am in my 3rd year of teaching and all have been at Lakin.
What do I like about Teaching: is being relatable to the students and trying to help them through problems and struggles. Also, seeing the growth and maturity through their four-year journey.
Favorite Teaching Memories: Getting told by former students how I impacted their lives in a positive way. Impacting the lives of students is the most rewarding thing I have ever done.
