Broncs drop game to Jays
By LHSports
A close game spoiled by a runaway fourth quarter spoiled Lakin’s homecoming Friday as the girls fell to Cimarron 48-38.
Tied 10-10 after one quarter, Lakin was down 20-17 at halftime but closed to 29–29 lat in the third.
But a 17-9 fourth period gave the visiting Bluejays the win.
Both teams shot about 31 percent from the floor, but Cimarron buried eight 3-pointers to Lakin’s one, proving to be the difference.
Cimarron edged Lakin in rebounds (35-32) and committed seven fewer turnovers (20-13).
Aryn Michaelis led the Broncs with 12 points.
Lileah Villa had eight points and three assists.
At 7-7, Lakin drops to eighth in the Scott City Class 3A regional.
