Girls fall to Liberal

A rough first quarter spelled disaster for the girls basketball team as they fell 67-33 at Liberal last Tuesday.
Liberal opened the game on a 13-0 run and took a 31-9 lead after the first quarter. They widened the lead to 41-17 by halftime.
The Broncs shot 35 percent from the floor, including two 3-pointers. Liberal converted 15 more field goals in shooting 45 percent.
The Redskins outscored Lakin 28-6 off turnovers and 42-16 in the paint. They also won the rebounding battle 34-26.
Lakin committed 22 turnovers but had five blocks.
Jordan McCombs led the team with 15 points. Aryn Michaelis had eight rebounds and Lileah Villa had three assists.
