Lakin boys improve to 16-1

Lakin’s boys made it a 3-0 week with a 56-33 win at Garden City Saturday.
Playing their second Class 6A team in five days, Lakin took a 12-6 lead after one quarter and 27-19 by halftime.
A 16-4 final period helped the Broncs improve to 16-1 with three regular season games remaining.
Lakin converted 40 percent of its shots, including nine from 3-point range. The Buffs shot just 26 percent, including 5 of 24 from inside the arc.
The Broncs took advantage of 20 Garden City turnovers, outscoring the Buffs 20-9. They also outscored the Buffs 13-0 on transition points.
Garden City held the rebounding edge, 377-34, but the Broncs outscored them 26-10 in the paint.
Nico Doume led the Broncs with 14 points and Dru Patterson added 13, including four 3-pointers.
Doume had 12 rebounds and six assists, and Adrik Gomez-Esquibel had four steals.
