Lakin Varsity Broncs fell 7-5 to Stanton County on Monday despite out-hitting them 10 to six. Lileah Villa led Lakin Varsity Broncs with three hits.
Stanton County got on the board in the first inning after one run scored on another play.
Atlantis Hernandez doubled to left field, which helped Lakin Varsity Broncs tie the game at one in the top of the second.
In the bottom of the third, Stanton County broke up the tie when Kynzi Fehringer grounded out, scoring two runs. Then an error followed to extend the lead to 4-1.
Lakin Varsity Broncs made the score 4-3 in the top of the fourth inning when Elitza Fonseca singled, scoring one run, and Moriah Ortiz hit a solo home run to left field.
Sidney Parks earned the win for Stanton County. The pitcher allowed 10 hits and five runs (four earned) over seven innings, striking out three and walking two. Ortiz took the loss for Lakin Varsity Broncs. The starter went six innings, allowing seven runs (four earned) on six hits, striking out five and walking six.

Lakin Varsity Broncs defeated Stanton County 12-11 on Monday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at 11 in the top of the ninth when a steal of home scored one run.
Lakin Varsity Broncs collected 10 hits and Stanton County had 12 in the high-scoring affair.
Lakin Varsity Broncs jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Moriah Ortiz drew a walk, scoring one run, and a dropped third strike scored one run.
Stanton County flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the first, scoring eight runs on five hits to take the lead, 8-3. The biggest blow in the inning was an inside the park home run by Kynzi Fehringer that drove in two.
Kaydence McCleary hit a solo home run to center field in the bottom of the second for the Stanton County.
Lakin Varsity Broncs tied the game up in the top of the sixth thanks to two doubles. Lakin Varsity Broncs tied the game at 10 on a double by Paityn Ansel.
A single by Sarah Peters gave Lakin Varsity Broncs the lead, 11-10, in the top of the eighth.
Mia Miravete grounded out, which helped Stanton County tie the game at 11 in the bottom of the eighth.
