Baseball takes two from Heights

The baseball team got their season going Tuesday with a doubleheader win at Southwestern heights, 7-0 and 11-0.

Lakin scored four runs in the top of the seventh to put away the Mustangs 7-0 in game one.

Jayden Johnson had three hits at Gabe Cox two to lead the Broncs, who outhit the Mustangs 7-6.

Johnson had two runs batted in, and Dru Patterson had two of Lakin’s five stolen bases.

Eli Bemis pitched five innings for the. Ron s, surrendering four hits, striking out one and walking one.

Armando Salcido pitched two innings, giving up just one hit, striking out four and walking two.

In the second game, Lakin scored seven runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to run-rule the Mustangs 11-0.

Cox had two runs batted in and two hits to lead Lakin.

Patterson had three steals of Lakin’s six.

Patterson pitched four innings, giving up two hits, walking one and striking out one. Angel Davila pitched two innings in relief.
