Girls first at Stanton County

The girls track team dominated enough at Stanton County Tuesday, winning the meet with 106 points.

South Gray was runner-up with 100.5 points in the 10-team field.

Aryn Michaelis led the Broncs with three golds, including breaking a school record.

The sophomore set the record in the triple jump, leaping 38-3, breaking the record previously set by her aunt Darcy Calkins and her mother, Mandy Michaelis.

Michaelis also took first in the high jump (5-7) and 100-meter hurdles (15.58 seconds).

Alyssa Edgington won the pole vault, clearing 10-7.

Edgington placed third in the long jump (17-8.25) and the triple jump (33-6.5).

Amari Esquibel placed second in the 100-meter dash (12.5 seconds) and 200-meter dash (26.49).

Emma Miller was second in the 1600-meter run (6:13.29) and fourth in the 800 (2:53.47).

Aubrie Yakel was sixth in both the shot put (81-5) and javelin (77-0).

Honey Murillo was fourth in the 300-meter hurdles (54.96) and sixth in the 110-meter hurdles (18.15).

The 4x100 relay took first in 52.19 seconds. That team consisted of Jordan McCombs, Claire Barnhardt, Re-cie Dixon and Esquibel.

The 4x400 relay finish fourth in 4:42.72. That team was Isabella VanDerKnaap, McCombs, Esquibel and Sapphire Harris.

The 4x800 relay finished fourth (11:29.08), consisting of Barnhardt, Harris, Shillelagh Kentner and Miller.
