Softball drops two to Scott City

The softball team dropped a pair of run-rule games at Scott City Friday, 12-2 and 15-5.
In the first game, Lakin committed nine errors leading to nine unearned runs in the loss.
Lileah Villa gave the Broncs a 1-0 lead in the first when she scored after tagging up. Villa led the team with two hits, including a triple.
Lakin scored their only other run in the fifth inning, but trailed 10-2 at that point.
Moriah Ortiz pitched 4-2/3 innings, giving up the 12 runs, but only two were earned. She struck out nine and walked three, giving up seven hits.
In the second game, Lakin took a 2-1 lead in the second inning, scoring on an error and a groundout by Elitza Fonseca.
Scott City responded with six runs on five hits in their half of the inning to take a 7-2 lead.
The Beavers scored seven runs on five hits in the fifth inning to get the win..
Atlantis Hernandez had two runs batted in and Taegan Oldham had two hits to lead the Broncs.
Ortiz took the loss, going 2-1/3 innings, giving up 14 runs (10 earned), striking out two and walking four.
