Baseball takes down Larks

The baseball team improved to 9-1 with a pair of run-rule games at Sublette Monday, 19-3 and 18-2.

In game one, Lakin scored 12 runs in the top of the first on their way to winning in three innings.

The Broncs pounded out 12 hits and took advantage of four Sublette errors.

Dru Patterson had four hits, including a double, and Blair Jones and Eli Bemis both had a pair of hits.

Bemis led the team with three runs batted in, and Jones had two of Lakin’s nine stolen bases.

Patterson pitched all three innings, giving up three earned runs while striking out six and walking two.

In game two, Lakin scored 10 runs in the first as they cruised to the win.

Lakin out-hit the Larks 13-2, led by Gabe Cox’s three along with his four runs batted in. Jayden Johnson batted in three runs.

Adrik Gomez-Esquibel had three of Lakin’s 11 stolen bases.

Patterson picked up the win again with three innings pitched, giving up two runs on two hits while striking out seven and walking one.
