The high school track teams travelled to Hugoton to compete in the second meet of the week after going to Scott City Monday in a make-up meet.
The boys finished second with 95 points, just two points shy of winner Stanton County.
The girls were third with 75 points. Ulysses won with 88 and Stanton County had 77.
Leading the girls was Anne Sophe Van Der Knaap, who won the high jump, clearing 4-10.
The 4x800 relay of Josiah Ortiz, Jordan Ortiz, Tiana Gonzalez and Grace Ostberg placed second, running 11:09.77.
Gonzalez placed third in the triple jump, going 33-09. Van Der Knaap was fourth (33-06).
Ostberg was fourth in the 400-meter dash (1:06.15) and Melissa Minetti was fourth in the 1600-meter run (6:04.79).
Minetti placed fourth in the 3200 meters in 13:01.15, a little over one second from first place.
Ryan Rider was fifth in the long jump (14-10.25) and sixth in the pole vault (7-06).
Staija Dohogne finished fifth in the 100-meter hurdles (19.26) and Erin Urie was sixth in the 100-meter dash (13.81).
The 4x400-meter relay girls finished third, clocking a 4:27.13.
For the boys, Lakin picked up first places in four events.
Tyler Tarpley won the 300-meter hurdles in 42.34 seconds.
Lawson Beymer won the 800-meter run in 2:06.70. The sophomore won the 1600 meters in 4:40.35.
He also won the 3200 meters in 10:18.03..
The 4x400-meter relay team placed first, running a 3:35.39.
The 4x100-meter relay team placed second, running 44.35.
Ty Davidson placed second in the 400-meter dash in 53.28 seconds.
Pablo Arreola placed second in the long jump (39-10).
Aron Pinter was third in the high jump (5-08).
Dravin Chavira got third in the discus (108-01) and sixth in the shot put (37-11.5).
Daryan Edgington placed fifth in the javelin (119-00) and Adrian Arreola fifth in the discus (106-5.5).
The 4x800 relay team was fifth, running a 9:49.09.
