The girls golf team opened their season last Thursday in Hugoton for a 9-hole tournament.
Junior Alli Meade placed sixth. Qualifying for state last year, Meade shot a 50.
Anais Gonzalez finished 18th, firing a 56.
Maegan Vargas shot 65 and Mya Brown, in her first tournament ever, shot 73.
"As a coach I’m super proud because we did not take a stroke limit, circle ten on any holes as a team," coach Michelle Thompson said. "I’m not sure this has happened in the time that I have been coaching that the team had no circles (where they hit the limit of strokes on a hole)."
The team competed in an 18-hole meet in Cimarron on Tuesday and travel to Goodland Thursday.
